Whereas you can obtain a matric certificate with a combination of two IGCSE, four AS subjects, it is imperative that the student goes further to complete a minimum of 3 full independent A levels should they wish to apply to an overseas institution which either requires at 13th year, or that the student does an academic bridging program that lasts a year or more.

Sharon Levy has been part of our lives since my oldest son Leo was 6 years old. Leo was a bright child with a particular interest in the sciences.

As Leo approached high school, he began to take his obviously great talent for music seriously in a manner that demanded a more flexible alternative to traditional schooling. Sharon and her team were brilliant both academically and logistically and enabled Leo to complete 5 IGCSE subjects in 5 months.
Leo ended up in the US an continued to do his A levels with LU, after a failed local alternative. He is now in his final year at the Julliard School of Music.
After we moved back to the UK, my younger son Joshua started to do his A levels in biology, chemistry and mathematics and found there were massive gaps in his knowledge as he had come from the different US educational system. Sharon’s team was again enlisted with excellent results and Joshua is now in his first year of studying Biological Sciences at Edinburgh University.
The biggest gift my boys have been given is to have been taught that there is no limit to their curiosity and to the value of thinking for themselves.

I started working with Sharon when I changed from Grade 11 NSC to doing my A levels in order to leave school and pursue my sport as a South African mountain-biker. I did 6 AS subjects with Sharon and her team over 18 months.
Learning with Sharon was when my curiosity and love of science developed; she not only helped me to achieve academic results but also develop an enquiring mind.
Doing A levels helped me to prepare well for medical school and I felt that it gave me a head start academically, allowing me to adjust to other aspects of university life.
After finishing my AS exams I got accepted at Stellenbosch University to study an MB, ChB which I have now completed.
In 2022 I graduated with an MPhil in Genomic Medicine at Cambridge University.
